Northport

Northport is a picturesque, waterfront community with a proud heritage dating back to 1849. Residents and visitors will enjoy our newly renovated marina facilities, and nearly one-half mile of prime public beaches designed for bathing, picnics and special events such as our Friday farmer’s market and destination weddings at our bayside pavilion. Within Village limits exists a walking trail through woods guaranteed to give you an “up north” experience.

New business ventures complement an already active retail sector. This summer will bring new restaurants, a bowling alley, an inn, a nine-hole golf course, a microbrewery and a specialty retail shop in our classic depot. And this is all within walking distance of downtown Northport.

Northport is establishing itself as a leader in promoting a “green” environment with a wind powered turbine generating electricity for our wastewater treatment plant, a completed stormwater runoff project, a new rain garden, as well as hosting several recycling sites within the village. We are also exploring ways to be energy efficient and are studying the use of solar power for producing electricity.
